Trying Focus Writer

I installed FocusWriter months ago when I happened upon it in Muon. Today, as I poked around for an app, I ran across it again. Time for a trial run.

My squeaky wheel story

While cleaning up the still-too-big pile of boxes from our move a year and a half ago, I ran across a few funny emails that I had printed. I had thought they were lost when I messed up and let my old emails get irreparably deleted a few years back, so I was very happy to see them again and I thought I'd share them in a post.

The other day, I had a very Hello-Neo-I'm-Morpheus kind of moment. I'd been googling for python this-and-thats on my right-most screen and coding in the middle one. I was focusing on my editor, staring at some bit of wayward code when I caught something change in the browser out of the corner of my eye. I didn't look right away. A few weeks ago, I got word that the company I worked for was halving it's workforce and I was among the half that wouldn't be continuing onward. It was a good strategic move for the company and they were generous with notice and a severance package. Priceonomics is a class act and I wish them well. So, with the opportunity to try my hand at consulting again, I've cobbled together my remote team toolbox and put up a [website](http://frameworklabs.us).

Using a simple construct I've been tinkering with, I have put up a [website](http://frameworklabs.us) for the new consultancy that's got a fair bit of complexity to it. I registered the domain on November 25th and as of today, about a month later, it's showing up on the front page when I google "framework labs" and I'm on page 3 for "framework labs continuous integration." For being about 4 weeks old, I'll take it.

Angular2 experiment with PWA and offline sync

I want to believe that Progressive Web Apps are the holy grail of app development. It sure sounds good. If I really can write an app once and have it be installable as an app while at the same time being usable in a browser, then I am one happy full-stack dev.
